A pleasant morning is spent in the company of these magnificent gentle giants. In present day Thailand, elephants are only used to show of their tremendous power. However, in earlier times they were a very important part of the King’s army and played a very important role in Thai history.
1. 8:30 a.m. Departure from 137 Pillars House.
2. 9:40a.m. The Mae Sa’ Elephant camp is about a 45-minute drive from the hotel. Watch the elephants take their daily bath in a nearby river before the 45-minute show begins. Watch demonstrations of how Thailand’s hardest working creatures were used for logging in the jungle, as well as elephants playing soccer, painting and playing musical instruments. Afterwards, take an elephant ride for one hour through the jungle.
3. 12:30p.m. Return to 137 Pillars House.
